Where did I come from?
I grew up in small town Ohio. I taught 4 1/2 years at a North Carolina Middle School. I heard a whisper growling from deep within me, there was something more, something deeper. Teaching wasn’t my destiny. I left in search for something more, something deeper and I landed myself in the middle of The World Race (January 2008), an 11 month journey to another place in life. I got slapped in the face by the living God and somehow it felt good…no, it felt great.
That deeper rumble from within was awakened, and I knew I needed to take part in this thing we call Kingdom work. There are way too many ‘dry bones’ needing life (Ezekiel 37) to sit on the sidelines and watch yet another generation pass the keys to God’s Kingdom on to the next. It took me some time to fall into a place of surrender though.
There were roadblocks.
- Finances.
- Future.
- Retirement.
- Health Care.
- Control.
It took far too little time after my time on The World Race for my heart to turn back to stone. It took far too long for me to realize that the heart that was broken to pieces and started to soften over those 11 months had started gluing itself back together and the heart of stone was returning. God’s continuing passing on grace to me and never gives up on me as he replaces my heart of stone with a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26).
What do I do?
I’ve been a support raised missionary with Adventures in Missions since 2008. I took a short break to hear from God in the early months of 2009 to seek more clear direction, but soon came back on board with Adventures in Missions // The World Race in the setup and logistics department. Being a support raised missionary leads to the need for financial support, if you feel the nudge to support me, CLICK HERE!
